Edward Dorson is an underwater photographer, sculptor and staunch activist for the ocean. A primary ambition is to have the viewer take in his images with a sense of re-seeing the ocean as a fragile environment supporting incredible and essential life. Edward believes a sculptor's eye has been a valuable asset to underwater photography. He explains: "While diving, I'm able to integrate my own physical self into the very flux of 3D, as opposed to forming art into a separate world. Composition isn't initially sought within the viewfinder - it's defined by constantly composing myself through interaction with the life that surrounds me."
The exhibition also includes a site-specific sculpture by Jae Hi Ahn, an ocean sound installation specifically created for this exhibition by Liz Phillips and photography by Edward Burtynsky.
